Welcome to my Blog! Have a look around.
My blog is about all the different war games and RPGs I play and run. Here I discuss armies I'm working on and scenarios I want to run. Also I will talk about those parts of pop culture that influence my designs and tastes.
Another of my long-time interests is cheesy sci-fi and horror movies and all the wonderful hosts who make them so entertaining. So to entertain the fantasy of being one I will tend to post like one.
I am a long time player of 40K, I also enjoy other generic sci-fi war games too. I love to build and customize my miniatures, vehicles and armies to the point that rarely does something make it from the packaging to the table without some tweaking.
As for RPGs there are probably only a very few that I haven't played, owned or thumbed through. My tastes tend towards sci-fi and horror over fantasy but I've been told I run a pretty kick-ass session of Hercules/Xena by WEG.

- I'm a killer cyborg along with an army of death machines sent from the future to wipe out man-kind, but a mishap scattered the army across time. Many arrive in 80's Hollywood and got jobs in cheap Sci-fi movies and TV shows forgetting their oaths to destroy all humans. Those that couldn't find work were rounded up and deposited on this secret reservation deep in the southwest dessert of the USA.

Who knew The Borg could be so easily turned by never-ending $5.00 cups of coffee from Hollywood talent scouts!? Or that Mecha Godzilla would rust-solid before making it to shore? It has been quite a dog-pile of an blitzkrieg.
No! We are not responsible for the Transformers! That's all Micheal Bay's fault.
But don't worry junior truckers. I am rearming and upgrading to bring you an even better CBT CPT experience!
So say goodbye to your loved ones and get ready for the Fall. When I will once again go to war with B-movies! I hope you all have a great Summer! And kill all humans!!!

This week I got the chance to finish a model I've been spying for some time. The 28mm Mechanical Mule model from Dreamforge Games.
This is another model I was able to assemble from the
Dreamforge Stormtrooper Accessory Set I spoke about in my last Movie Post.
The legs are tiny (as they should be) and can pose a challenge to those with giant stubby finger syndrome (like me). But otherwise I think it goes together with ease.
I can't wait to get the other 2 done. I think besides complementing my Shockforce army from Wargames Factory it would make a great model for use in MERCS games. Either as an objective to be recovered or escorted across the battlefield. Plus the crates can be left unglued so they can be objectives too. Just a very useful model for making scenarios I think.
Then I managed to sneak off of the Robot Reservation* over the weekend. I met my friend Larry and I introduced him to the Yahoo Group miniature game FUBAR. He is a fan of the Imperial Guard so I wrote up a list using my Shock Troopers for him. I took my Black legion with a newly finished squad of 30 Cultists. We decided on a simple Kill `em all mission for our first training game.
The Cultists ended up quagmired in the middle where they were a semi-distraction during the battle. In other words not very dangerous but just enough not to be ignored.
Larry's armor moved up the left side of the table to try and circle around the cultists.
By the end of the second turn the Fire Wyvern was wrecked by combined fire from my experimental Stalker (walker) and a CSM with a lascannon lurking in the second story of a building.
In the end we didn't kill a whole lot as it was a learning the rules kind of game for Larry. And soon our bellies were rumbling so we wrapped up to go get Chinese food.
But this just makes me want to get out more of my Armies without rules and get them painted and finished for even more games of FUBAR!!!
Alright my Junior Truckers, on to today's movie! Let's all give Michael Caine a big hand!! Cause, yes. That is the movie will be watching! The Hand from 1981. Besides Mr. Caine. Andrea Marcovicci (The Stuff and Space Hunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone), Annie McEnroe (Snowbeast and Howling 2) and Bruce McGill (Timecop and Tales from the Crypt) are in it.
Here is the synopsis from IMDB: Jon Lansdale (Michael Canie) is a comic book artist who loses his right hand in a car accident**. The hand was not found at the scene of the accident, but it soon returns by itself to follow Jon around, and murder those who anger him.
**The work FREAK should be in there about 100 times before the word accident! You'll see.
Junior Truckers. It's time for the show! Get out your how-to-draw-comics manuals, your colored pencils and get ready for one freaky joyride! It's The Hand, on Cyborg Trucker's Chrome Plated Theater!
*That's where all 1980's robots and cyborg machines are kept who didn't find work in Hollywood. We're under a cloaked force field way out in the dessert. I'll tell you more later.

Hello Junior Truckers! I am going to have a Movie Supposition post here. But first I want to say that I do love this movie so I'm just letting out my "what ifs" and not hating.
BUT (for supposition sake) what if there were another reason(s)?
I first present to you that the armed guards seemed completely unaware that the elevators did or would release the monsters to pour out more beasts.
Now normally minions aren't always in the loop. But this seems like a serious oversight for such an anal organization IMO.
Then again there did seem like there was a heavy layer of over-complacency by the staff. Maybe they really just needed more emergency drills to shake the pencil-pushers up.
Soooooooooooo. What if maybe one of the monsters influenced maintenance to put one in subconsciously? And then just waited for the right sequence of events to release them? Hmmmmmmm?
What if the Director broke under the stress and wanted the kids to end it all?
Yeah it is all supposition on a piece of fiction. This was something my old rpg group used to do for 3-4 hours on Sunday night after gaming. I miss getting to do it, so occasionally I will post them here.
